Eom: Facilities and construction in hospitals for infection control

Abstract

After the Korean outbreak of Middle East respiratory syndrome in 2015, a consensus emerged building facilities and making construction standard, which are related to infection control in hospitals and other medical institutions. To address this need, the Korean government announced a partial revision of the Medical Enforcement Decree on February 3, 2017. In this study, I consider reports regarding the construction of medical facilities for infection control and the experiences of various institutions with such construction programs and make further suggestions to complement the revision of the Medical Enforcement Decree.
